It Ice-Pelleted =)

On Monday morning it started icing here. We went to the library at 9 a.m. and it was already starting to come down. By the time we left at 11:00 or so, I had to use the scraper to clean off the car, or as James said, "Break the windows!"

Then at 1:30 Ben's work got canceled and he got to spend the afternoon with us. That was pretty great. We bundled up and went outside and "skated" on our back porch. It was very, very cold.

When we woke up on Tuesday morning, we found out that Ben's work was canceled for another day...and that it had SNOWED as well! So we bundled up again and tried to go out, but it was raining ice pellets, like someone dumped a sno-cone factory on our heads, and it was not gentle, so we headed back in.

Later, though, we spent a good hour outside sledding down the hills in our front yard, and down the driveway, on a cookie sheet. Yes, that's right, a cookie sheet, and yes, Ben and I did our fair share of the sledding, usually with James lying down on our backs.

It was so much fun!

Susan,

Is this an extended xmas vacation?? Lucas took the wheels off his skateboard and turned it into a snowboard and had a BLAST yesterday even if it was 7 degrees wind chill. So good to see the sun this morning. I am getting cabin fever. James looks adorable all bundled up. love, Rachel

I wanted some snow, but all we got here was ice. It is several inches deep, though, so at least it's pretty like snow.
