Sticker Shock

House update: We made an offer. We signed papers. Seller signed papers. Realtor took our large earnest money check. We're through the very large first hoop (offer and acceptance). Barring any unforeseen Acts of God or horrible inspection results, hopefully the house is ours!

Holy cow, did we just buy a house? It definitely doesn't feel real at this point in time.

And how the heck are we going to afford to buy a washer and a dryer and a lawnmower? Anyone have any brilliant ideas?

Susana,

Felicidades!!! Now I have to drive down to see it. I am very excited for you. Look for those appliances on Craigslist and go to garage sales. That is my best idea tonight. Pepes was wonderful yesterday as always, love,Rachel

Rach has the right idea. With a little hunting I'm sure you'll pin them down!

Congratulations!!!

Craigslist, or somewhere where you can buy second-hand to get you started. I don't know if you're near a military base or not, but those guys are always having to get rid of perfectly good stuff because they have to move or get deployed, etc. Just breath - if you've bought a good house - it can be your best investment! I can't wait to see pictures ;-)

Congratulations! We have also signed a contract on a house. It is kind of daunting to be signing 30 years of your life away right? Good luck shopping around for stuff for the new house!
