Such is life

A long time ago I used to actually, you know, WRITE things on this blog.

A long, long time ago.

I miss that.

But since then, I've moved across the country (again), bought a mini-farm and learned how to take care of reluctant goats and chickens, started using an insulin pump, had a second kid, gone 2 years without a home internet connection, and just generally led a chaos-filled life.

The chaos? Totally still here. But I'm thinking I'll try to do the "blog for a month" thing this November again, because way back in 2007, I really really LOVED it. And I met some awesome people (well, cyber-met) who made me feel less alone in my mess. And that was worth every second of the husband and progeny thinking I was internet/blog-addicted and giving me a hard time about it.

This time, the goats will probably complain as well. And as loud as they are....well...maybe I'll have to get them their own blog or something to shut them up. Mmmm....delicious, tasty blog...

Anyway. Here's a promise. I will definitely, maybe, try to post every day for the month of November.

Therefore, I doubt I'll get around to posting again until then.

Such is life.

Family trip in August

Waaaaaay back in August, we got to go visit Grandma Jane and Grandpa Clint, and it was extra-special because Nana, aka Grandpa's Mommy, was down for a visit. She had never gotten to meet Nathan before, so it was really special to get them together:

I love how it looks like they're making the same face in that picture!

It was great to spend time with family, and also great because we rented a van to take our whole family, con doggie, up there, and there was so much ROOM! That was also when we first discovered our love of the story Nurk by Ursula Vernon--we all listened to it on CD on the drive up there. That was awesome!

Here's a picture of the reason we had to take the dog, aka, YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME!!!

(It's also proof of why we had to get a van to fit everyone, in case you didn't notice...)

Here's one of a long series of pictures in which we attempted to get everyone to sit still for a group picture. File that attempt under "completely unsuccessful, but entertaining!"

I'm sure there are many more things I could say tonight, but it's almost my bedtime, so I gotta run. Here's my two beautifuls--aren't they perfect?

Yes, of course they are.
